Supercool Music: A Living Article© Part 57: “White Christmas”

William Michael Morgan. Now, there’s a name every true country music enthusiast should know. 😎 Why? Because he sings good, pure, true country. He’s got the heart, the voice, the sense, the tone, the authenticity, music and melodic style of it. When you hear one of his songs – any of them – you immediately know you’re hearing real country music. Not pop. Not sap. Nor anything else that is sometimes accepted – by some – as country music. William Michael Morgan is genuine and so’s his music. 🙂 😎

“White Christmas” is a nice, pleasant song of the season and has been recorded numerous times, by artists of varying genres, since it was first heard. William Michael Morgan’s steady, practical-yet-dreamy rendition of it is of supercool quality. 🙂 😎

The three-minute-and-fourteen-seconds song of Christmas pleasantness begins with notes played on one of the most well-known stringed instruments 😉 and is appropriately joined in time with drums, percussion, real piano, steel guitar and the bass…and the most important sound in it all: William Michael Morgan’s Creator-blessed voice. 🙂 😎 (If you’re wondering if I’m going to keep typing all three of his names, the answer is, “Yes.” 🙂 He goes by his full name. I’m encouraging others to check out his great music, so they need to know the name he goes by. Plus, I don’t currently yet know which name he prefers to be called by. His best friend, who is his dad 😎 , calls him Michael, but that might be a best friend’s privilege, so I’ll wait until I know his thoughts on that. 🙂 )

He sings from the heart, setting a calm, steady pace for the song that keeps it cozy and comfortable without becoming slow or draggy – that’s very important in this song. It’s supposed to paint a picture, reminiscent and fun – not make you fall asleep. 😉 And William Michael Morgan sings it just right. 😎 🙂

In the song, it’s about hoping for a nice, cozy setting to celebrate in, as has been enjoyed previously, “where the treetops glisten, and children listen, to hear sleigh bells in the snow.” This supercool singer carries the notes in melodic vocal beauty, holding each note for the right amount of time. 😎 I also like how his notes lift upwards with hope and brightness; I always appreciate that. 🙂 😎 (I don’t like it when a song’s overall tone – in vocals and/or other instruments – has a downward-note sound. Music can get an idea across without dragging your spirit down; William Michael Morgan is one of the artists who understands that – the proof is in his every song. 😎 )

Approaching the midway point in the song, the steel guitar takes the forefront of the manmade musical instruments section before the ivories take their light and cheerful turn.

William Michael Morgan sings the chorus again, adding even more heart to his blessing for the listeners. 🙂 He sang of dreaming of a white Christmas and sings to us all: “May your days be merry and bright, and may all your Christmases,
may all your Christmases, oh, may all your Christmases be white.” 🙂

The drums have the last say in the song, giving a flourish at the close of this hopeful song of wanting and of blessings.

Dreaming of a white Christmas. People do that all over the world in both extremes of hot and cold climates and everywhere in between. It sounds nice. 🙂 Although Yeshua/Jesus was born in the Mediterranean area – Bethlehem, Israel to be specific – snow is often associated with the celebration of His miraculous birth. Part of the reason for this is that many have snow in their hometowns in the month of December and it lends a warm, cozy scene with fireplaces and greenery on postcards. Also, there’s something symbolic and therefore comforting in the quiet beauty of a pristine, soft blanket of pure snowflakes, each one a unique design – just like each person in the world is unique and special to the Creator. 🙂 😎 He loves us all. He came and gave up His life, suffering in our stead so that we wouldn’t have to pay for our imperfections ourselves. He gave us a way to Heaven/Paradise – the only way, in fact. Faith in Him, asking His forgiveness and trusting what He did for us is all we need to do. Once we’ve done that, we don’t need to worry about getting into Heaven; we’re all set! 🙂 And we also have Him in our hearts, filling our soul – that place that felt empty before we asked Him into our hearts. He gives us peace with the Creator and joy within, regardless of what we face in life. He’s there for us. Always. 😎
