Supercool Music: A Living Article Pa©rt 66: “The Lord is Gonna Take Good Care of You”

Roy Rogers and Dale Evans are a continuous blessing to this world. 🙂 😎 I could say a lot about them, noting their love and generosity, their patriotism, their many great talents in acting, singing, et cetera. 🙂 However, that would be one looooooong article! 🙂 You all know I try to keep my articles to a comfortable few-minutes reading length for you and I already have so much to say about the song I selected to review! 🙂

So here’s the supercool Roy Rogers and Dale Evans song starring at the top in my living article this month: “The Lord is Gonna Take Good Care of You” – A Little Golden Record, which originally sold for twenty-five cents, and is a nifty, happy tune that plays for about one minute and forty seconds. 🙂 😎

The happy, upbeat chorus starts right up, encouraging us to “Pack up your troubles, turn ’em over to the Lord. That’s the thing to do, ’cause He’ll take care of you! So won’t you pack up your troubles, turn ’em over to the Lord. The Lord is gonna take good care of you!” There’s so much we don’t know, but the Creator of us all knows all – and He cares about us. 🙂 That’s so awesome! 🙂 😎

The first verse begins with the lovely voice of Dale Evans encouraging us to look around us each morning when we wake up and be glad about the good things instead of thinking about things that make us unhappy. 😎 It really does make the day start brighter when you appreciate the good things and focus on that right off. 🙂

Roy Rogers’ pleasant voice sings the next part of this section, telling us the wonderful truth about our Creator’s love and care for us: “You’ve got Someone to turn to if something bothers you; He’ll be right there to help you ’cause that’s what He loves to do!” It is so good to know that He is always there for us, ready and waiting for us to look to Him and trust Him to help us. There is great comfort and joy in that. 😎

The bright and cheery chorus comes around again, fitting right in with the instrumental melody that could be described in that same way. 🙂 It all comes together beautifully! 🙂

Dale Evans then wisely notes that worrying doesn’t do any good and wastes time; it stresses you and makes you hurry “instead of doing things you should.”

Roy encourages us to think it over and kindly advises us to “…ask the Lord to help you out; He’ll take good care of you!”

Singing out with good cheer and encouragement, the chorus shares the message again to pack up our troubles and turn them over to the Creator and finishes up with: “Yes, the Lord is gonna take good care of you!” carrying that note cheerily onward. 🙂 😎 Great song! 🙂 Great singing! 🙂 And one of the things I appreciate most about it is the fact that Roy and Dale understood and meant what they were singing. It wasn’t merely nice words or pleasant thoughts; they knew this information to be real and true in their own lives. You can hear it. 🙂 And when you watch any footage of them, you can see it, too. 🙂 😎 They are a great blessing and so is this song; I hope you’ll get to hear it soon if you haven’t heard it yet! 🙂
