Supercool Music: A Living Article© Part 96: If Every Day Was Like Christmas

Good news is always good to hear, so here’s an encore presentation of a very special message found in a favorite Elvis Presley song….

Elvis Presley, one of my favorite Tsalagi/Cherokee singers, has a great Christmas album that I love to listen to repeatedly. (No surprise there! 🙂 ) As soon as one side of the record is over, I flip it to play the other. 😎 The CD and the digital get played repeatedly as well. 🙂 I never tire of his great voice, sound and soul. This article features his song, “If Every Day Was Like Christmas”. 🙂

Gentle music like that of a music box begins to play then Elvis soon adds his voice in a soulful, gentle, quiet tone, singing about hearing the bells announcing that Christmas is near. 🙂 They’re ringing out that this is the season of cheer. 🙂 Here’s what they’re ringing out to tell us all:

“And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.

And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.

And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.”

This is from a treasured and reliable source: The Book of Luke from The Scriptures (original King James Version), Chapter 2, verses 8 through 20. 🙂

Elvis continues to share his heart with us. He hears the singing of a choir, telling the true meaning of the season. His heart is aglow and he’s at peace with the world as the sound of their singing fills the air. 🙂 The joy of knowing the truth of The Creator’s love for us all is enough to make a heart sing. 😎

Elvis reaches the chorus, kicking the volume up as he sings out the question, “Oh, why can’t every day be like Christmas?” Good question. The point is: every day could very well be like Christmas if we all did what we ought to make it so. We can’t get too caught up in the irritations of other people not doing right – we are responsible for our own actions and can help make a good change by consistently doing right no matter what “everyone else” is doing. Sometimes it seems like everyone only cares about themselves, but that isn’t true at all. Countless times, around the world every day, complete strangers go out of their way to help someone else. They do it with peace and good will toward mankind, which is part of what is so special about that feeling at Christmastime. 😎 If we all did that, it would be as Elvis sang next: “For if every day could be just like Christmas, what a wonderful world this would be.” 😎

Elvis sings about how a smile on a little child’s face is a precious and wonderful thing. 😎 Yeshua/Jesus loves all children around the world, of every age! 😉

As the chorus follows, Elvis sings out again, “Why can’t that feeling go on endlessly?” Exactly. Why not? If we have it in us to be nice for a short time, why not extend it to year ’round? We can; we only have to choose to. Attitude is up to each of us as individuals; The Creator gave us the free will to make our own choices, every day. That’s a powerful gift.

“Oh, why can’t every day be like Christmas? Why can’t that feeling go on endlessly? For if every day could be just like Christmas, what a wonderful world this would be!” 😎

Supercool Music: A Living Article© Part 92: Supercool December Holidays Music 2021

Here’s eight great supercool music recommendations from me for you to check out for yourselves for a supercool December holidays music funtime! 🙂 I’m sure you’re all familiar with several of them while some may be new to you – always good to find more supercool music to enjoy! 🙂 Happy Chanukah and Merry Christmas to every neighbor of mine – which includes, by Scriptural definition, each and every one of you around the globe! 🙂 😎

Paul Revere & the Raiders’ supercool instrumental “Peace” that Terry Melcher co-wrote with Mark Lindsay and produced for The Raiders’ 1967 Columbia Records album, “A Christmas Present…And Past” continues to be a favorite of mine. No surprise there. 🙂 It’s a great piece. 😎 It says so much without saying an audible word – the need for peace, the hope for peace, the soothing presence of peace like a gentle rain after the storm. Great stuff. 😎

Something many of us say as the wintertime approaches: “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!” That’s what Ed Ames (we also know him as Mingo the wise Tsalagi/Cherokee friend of Daniel Boone on the classic television show, “Daniel Boone” 🙂 😎 ) sings on his RCA album, “Christmastime in Carol and Song”. 🙂 It’s a unique version that Ed Ames delivers for our listening pleasure.

My favorite rendition of the song “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!” is sung by Tsalagi/Cherokee singer extraordinaire Wayne Newton on his Capital Records album “Songs for a Merry Christmas”. 🙂 It’s definitely a cozy-by-the-fire kind of song; he paints the scene so well with his gifted voice. I love the heart that he puts into every song he sings. ❤ ❤

The Hymnworks Christmas collection features the delightful combination of loved songs of the season as well as some highly-recognizable classical tunes. They took one of each and paired them up together to a very pleasant sound. 😎 I love “O Little Town of Bethlehem/Reverie”! 🙂

One of my favorite songs on Elvis Presley’s Christmas album is “Silent Night”. It is so very beautiful. Before he even sings, the deep, resonant tones of the piano touches your soul and then when the Tsalagi/Cherokee Elvis begins to sing…wow! You can easily hear the depth with which his faith sings from from his soul; it’s not only his gifted vocals, but also the heart and soul that reverberates through each and every note he sings in every gospel song he’s sung. 😎

Listening to the deep, rich voice of country singer Ricky Van Shelton as he sings “Silver Bells” (or any other song on his supercool Christmas album! 🙂 😎 ) is a great way to enjoy a December evening by the fireside – or to listen to as you are out amongst those silver bells a-ringing! 🙂

A fun vinyl record to listen to for the eight days and nights of Chanukah, featuring some exceptional songs for a good family listening is “Chanukah Songs for Children” by Shimon & Ilana. 🙂 I have featured music from this album previously and find it enjoyable every year. 😎

“Little Drummer Boy” has always been one of my favorite Christmas songs, partly because I love drums so much! 🙂 So it’s no surprise that this song is my favorite selection on The Jackson 5 Christmas Album. 😎 Not only does it feature their great voices, but also some good drumming! 🙂

There are so many good Chanukah and Christmas songs available for our listening pleasure. 🙂 Some songs are just for fun and some have much deeper meaning and purpose. The songs telling about The Light, Yeshua/Jesus, are the ones that touch our soul and draw us closer to the One Who created us. May your heart be filled with joy this holiday season as we celebrate The Light Who gives us peace and life and joy and love forevermore. 🙂

Supercool Music: A Living Article© Part 80: “White Christmas”

I hope all of my cool, good meshugge readers had a very happy Chanukah! 🙂 ❤ ❤ The eight days and nights go by so fast, nu? 🙂 It feels that way to me amongst all of the fun, rejoicing and reflecting on the Creator’s blessings. A true miracle that that little bit of oil lasted eight days and nights until new could be properly purified for the rededication of the Temple! 🙂 Further proof that our loving Creator knows our needs and provides for us even when things look dire – major battles had been fought and won by His mercy, love and grace. Every battle can be won. So much to be thankful for! 🙂 Chanukah is a supercool holiday! 🙂

Now Christmas is almost here and the joyful fun continues! 🙂 There are always things to be happy about and grateful for, so like Mark Lindsay tells us in the Paul Revere & the Raiders song: “Wear a Smile at Christmas” (and all throughout the year! 🙂 ). 😎

Usually I give eight (this number chosen in honor of the length of Chanukah) brief reviews of Chanukah, Christmas and New Year’s songs. This year I felt I should select one song this time, so I chose a popular favorite around the world. 🙂 😎 You know it’s a favorite of mine; it’s been featured by various artists here. 🙂 My favorite since I was little is by Elvis Presley, featured on his Christmas album. The song is none other than “White Christmas”, written by famous Jewish composer, Irving Berlin. 🙂 😎

This song is applicable to all three December holidays and is a good one. 😎 All areas of the world enjoy this song, no snow required – it’s a feeling in your heart that cannot be taken away unless you let it. 😎 The songs speaks of dreaming of a snowy Christmas, a feeling of coziness, warmth and love. Regardless of where you are in the world and what’s going on around you, in your life, there are some things that no one can take away from you. 😎

One thing is your dreams. 🙂 They live in your heart, comfort your mind and inspire your heart to keep beating. No one can stop you from dreaming of and hoping for good things.

Another thing no one can take away from you is love in your heart. ❤

Hope in your soul cannot be taken by someone else; the Creator gives us hope and we only lose it when we allow bad things to rob us of that reassurance – but we can get it back with His help. He offers us hope; all we have to do is accept it, this priceless gift. As long as there is life, there is hope. Please never give up hoping for and believing in good things; it is a joy that the Creator offers us daily, moment by moment.

The song paints a picture of peacefulness and that’s another thing no one can take away from us. That might seem incredulous, given circumstances, yet it is true that we can have peace in the midst of chaos, war and everything else that feels anything but peaceful. The Creator’s peace is always right there waiting for us, unending and priceless. His peace is a lasting one and it comes to us through faith in His Son, Yeshua/Jesus, HaMashiach – the Messiah. He is the true Gift of Chanukah, Christmas and New Year, giving us new life when we put our trust in Him.

There are so many blessings awaiting us as we look to the Creator for them. As Smokey Robinson sang, “more love, more joy”! 🙂 Surroundings and situations cannot be ignored, but our focus needn’t be on them 24/7, but rather focus on the Creator, His love, His Light, His Gift to us all. 🙂 😎 ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
